Chronology of cameras Bellieni
The Bellieni Extra-Plat was introduced as early as 1912. After the war ended, Henri Bellieni resumed its commercialization with some slight modifications. According to Etienne Gérard (Henri Bellieni: "History of an Industrialist from Lorraine"), in 1919, Bellieni sold his company to the Ritter family but continued to work there. In 1922, the company was called Bellieni et Ritter. The last camera designed by Bellieni was an Extra-Plat stereo-panoramic model with a format of 6 x 13, sold in 1922 for the price of 1500 francs. In 1924, Bellieni retired, and Ritter continued the business alone.
The Extra-Plat is a folding camera constructed with high-quality materials. It is designed to be as compact as possible, as its name suggests. In the 9 x 12 format, it is less than 3 cm thick when closed. Four folding struts ensure excellent rigidity. It allows for horizontal shifts of 24 mm and vertical shifts of 12 mm, but the viewfinder, linked to the lens movements, maintains precise framing according to Davanne's principles. Focus is adjusted by operating the small lever concentric with the lens. A slider moves along a meter-graduated scale to indicate distances. The focusing helicoid is fixed on the lens board, but the lens-shutter block unscrews and can be replaced with another combination.

The Stereo Extra-Plat is the stereoscopic variation of the successful Extra-Plat Klapp concept by the Bellieni brand. It has a format of 6 x 13. The front face slides laterally, allowing the centering of one of the two lenses to capture a panoramic view.
